The Morning After
Since the 4th of July is complete mayhem in newport, Kim Masoner at Save Our Beach is hosting a beach cleanup. You may remember she helped us with our Seal Beach Clean Up last year. She is hosting a beach clean up on July 5, 2010, 7 am - 11 am at the Newport Beach Pier (you don't have to get there right at 7, show up anytime before 11 and I'm sure there will be plenty of trash to pick up). Please email Kim at kimmasoner@verizon.net if you can participate.
We're calling it "Morning After Mess Cleanup" or "Treasure Hunt" (day after 4th of July)
7/5/2010 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Newport Pier
We will have scuba divers diving under the pier with mesh bags to
collect the trash. We will also have longboarders with 6' poles that have
nets on the end to get all the trash around the pier. And we will have
people on the sand, not only picking up trash along the water, but emptying
the nets from the surfers and collecting the mesh bags from the divers.
Its a great way to help keep our beaches clean! come on down and help out!
