Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational NYC

Join Vans October 14-15 at legendary Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY to see 16 of the best longboarders in the world compete in the highly anticipated Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational. Hosted by The Surf Lodge, the unique, specialized event will require surfers to ride 12-lb, single fin leashless boards along with some serious style and nose riding all for a $10,000 purse. The Contest wraps up friday night with a live performance by The Growlers & Tomorrows Tulips!

Introduced in August at the East Coast Surfing Championships in Virginia Beach, the Duct Tape Invitational is an innovative new event Vans developed with Joel Tudor that showcases longboarding in its purest aesthetic and pushes the envelope on how longboarding is typically viewed.

"The Duct Tape Invitational is special because it shows longboarding the way it should be", says contest director and Vans team rider Joel Tudor. "It also highlights some of my favorite young loggers, guys that represent the next generation of longboarding."

Expected Riders include:
Harrison Roach, Troy Elmore, Chris Del Moro , Jared Mell, Tyler Hatzikian, Alex Knost, Justin Quintal (winner of 2010 ECSC Duct Tape Invitational and ECSC longboard title), Christian Wach, Yuta Sezutsu, Kassie Meador, Tyler Warren, Mikey DeTemple, CJ Nelson, Robbie Kegel, JJ Wessels, Nathan Adams (1st Alternate)
