The event has seen some of the best conditions imaginable, with both surfers getting some of the best rides they've ever experienced during a contest. Even with a loss in the quarters, the points gained will see Pat move up to around 20th on the One World Rankings. John would be in the low 40's in need of one more result before the mid-year cut with one event to do it at, the U.S. Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach.
