Alex Knost Wins the Santa Cruz Duct Tape!

We had great weather & waves on the final day of the Duct Tape, Big Al Knost took the win. Behind him was Harrison Roach in 2nd place, followed by Ryan Burch in 3rd and Chad Marshall in the 4 spot. Near the end of competition, we all thought Jason "ratboy" Collins won the board sacrifice award, but Chad came from nowhere and chucked his (new looking) log nose first downward at the rocks on the cliff. Needless to say, he took home that trophy. Right after we wrapped the event, we trucked everyone over to Derby Skate Park for some shredding and pizza. In the evening we had our last dinner followed by the awards, and Dirt Dress performed live. It was such a great event, big thanks to all the competitors and everyone who help make this event happen! Duct Tape Santa Cruz: Day 1

Today was the start of the Duct Tape Invitational, we ran round one of competition. We had a little fog in the morning, but it turned out to be a great day, with good waves. We also ran the first expression session with Joel Tudor, Nat Young, Herbie Fletcher, Tyler Hatzikian and Michel Junod! From 16 competitors, we are now down to 8. So tomorrow we'll see these two semi final heats. Stay tuned for more info, and also check out our Duct Tape Micro-site

The Road to the Duct Tape: Day 2

After our stay in Cambria, we continued north. Stopped to check out some sea lions, punk squirrels, a quick surf in Big Sur, then finished the drive to Santa Cruz. Tomorrow night we have the opening ceremonies and then one more nights rest before the big event. Stay Tuned...

The Road to the Duct Tape: Day 1

We ventured up the California coast today on the road towards Santa Cruz for the Duct Tape Invitational. We made a quick stop at C st. for some small peelers. Our crew is looking good right now, we got Al Knost, Jared Mell, Mitch Abshere, Troy Elmore, Dane Peterson getting ready for competition. The event will be held at Steamer Lane on January 14th & 15, if your around Santa Cruz, come on by!

ECSC: Day 4

The Final Day of ECSC was amazing! The beach was paced with east coasters rolling around the comp zone. Andrew Doheny finished up taking 3rd & 4th place in the Mens Pro & the Jr. Pro. Such a Champion! Then we wrapped up Joel Tudor's Duct Tape Invitational. Mother Nature provided excellent waves for the semi's and the Final. Results in the final were:

1st - Justin Quintal
2nd - Harrison Roach
3rd - Mikey Detemple
4th - Tyler Warren

We cant wait to come back next year and do it again! Be sure to check out the next Duct Tape Invitational, it will be held in Montauk, New York in October.

ECSC: Day 3

what a day! Andrew Doheny had a great day, with another two 1st place victories, the kid is unstoppable! Then we kicked off the first day of Joel Tudor's Duct Tape Invitational. This has been such an awesome event so far, everyone involved is amazing. Advancing today was: Harrison Roach, Chris Del Moro, Justin Quintet, Alex Knost, Tyler "Pickle" Warren, Kassia Meador, Mikey Detemple and JJ Wassels. Joel and Daniel Cooper were the official MC's during the event, and never missed a single moment of competition. This was really cool, and we can't wait for tomorrow! So Stay tuned...

ECSC: Day 2

Andrew Doheny continues to crush heats, he won 2 more throughout the day. Meanwhile, the longboarders went over to Freedom Surf Shop to pick up some fresh sleds. In the evening, we had the official competitors dinner for the Duct Tape Invitational. Everyone sat, as Joel gave out the rules and format for the contest. We ate dinner, then everyone headed back to the hotel. Alex Knost and Dylan Graves came together with a collaborative piece, maybe inspired by Mugatu's Derlict campaign?
